Green is good

Over the weekend, my dad, Brett, Kate and I went to the LA Arboretum in Arcadia to see some Garden Show that was going on. In case you didn't know, I grew up in Arcadia and have fond memories of the Arboretum.

I had forgotten how gorgeous it is there. Both my dad and I enjoy plants and gardening so it was a lot of fun seeing all the different varieties of plant life. I think our love of tinkering in the garden (or in my case the garden of potted plants) must be a dormant Italian gene that gets activated later in life or when nesting hormones come about.

Anyway, it is fun and I am glad we both like doing it. Of course my mom is slightly horrified by my dad's "let's plant these seeds and see what grows" method when it concerns her front yard but all in all he has done a lovely job and honestly waiting to see what comes up is half the pleasure.

Here are some pics from the day. The victorian rose garden was my fav - so beautiful. I am so grateful to live in southern california. Yes it is crowded and expensive but it is also gorgeous, romantic and freaking awesome! My dad took some very nice pictures of Brett, Kate and I in front of a waterfall. However, I am not posting them because for some reason where I was supposed to be is instead some large beastly thing. Hmmmm.

Your pictures are gorgeous! It makes me want to go and visit the Arboretum again. As you said, I have fond memories too going there. It looks like Kate enjoyed it as well!
